⁃ a moment of realisation, change and/or disruption
when on thursday 12 I woke up in pain, I couldn't open my eyes as the pain was too much even with eyes closed. I have a cornea condition since this summer. That day I had to walk trusting my boyfriend guidance, holding his arm tight. As weird as it sounds, i kept on concentrating on the sound all around i couldn't orientate myself at all but i was almost enjoying the confusion amidst the fear, trying to recreate the environment around. In that moment i realized how much the sound matters to define a place. I also realized that i was working with sound since the beginning, as when i was making surveys in Biella i was recording people. Even the installation i made in Barriera has some sound component to it as every charm installed has a little bell on it so when there's wind it makes a peaceful sound.
Even when there is pain there is discovery and connection with the surroundings.

⁃ any tools / methods / resources to share
I started with the idea of listening to people speaking. To listen is the most important thing: to understand necessities of the other, to put yourself a step back. Write and record everything; observe where life is intersecting with the research (listen to yourself) . Make your_self recognisable. Don't be afraid to trust. Question everything, try to connect as much as possible with others.

⁃ a question you are left with
Too many questions left open. what's the deal with the idea of preservation once something is out and what's the need around it? should "it" be frozen in time? or how do you preserve and document the living changes of something, whether is an installation or sound during time?

⁃ something you will carry forward
The audio research in various declinations; sentence mixing, the environment recordings; the idea of a living archive, of a sound library evolving. The idea of a shared “open” space for conversation (perhaps where a “sentence mixing” can be tangible?) . The idea of connection with others, of not being alone when working on something.
