In the beginning, I had many moments when I felt disconnected from my initial project and uncapable to do it. It was difficult to engage fully, while staying in the same environment and working as a teacher. Later, I realised it was more about connecting and being flexible...

A great moment of connection was when I had the intensive week together with Aida, Francesco & Sarah. It was nice that even though we met only remotely via zoom (due to the covid situation) we had from the beginning this mindset or heartset to connect and to collaborate.

- any tools / methods / resources to share

My guess is that the humans & the human relationships are essential resources in order to exist, to be really in the world. And it’s quite a challenge for an introvert, but the only way is to be in the world, to be vulnerable and to take some risks.

How do you create social art, while being an introvert? ☺

- something you will carry forward

I’ll carry forward the beautiful sentiment of inspiration (that comes from the seminars and the other residents), the acknowledgment of multiple perspectives & possibilities, of human kindness and understanding.

My name is Andra Nedelcu, I am a visual artist living in Bucharest, Romania, working with different media like drawing, photography, video art or performance. I just finished my PhD thesis – an artistic research on everyday aesthetics – at the National University of Arts from Bucharest and I am currently enrolling in the second year of study at the Faculty of Psychology. I have a constant interest for interdisciplinary approaches on understanding collective and individual behaviour and for exploring the poetry of everyday life.
Being a schoolteacher during pandemic times proves to be a challenge and requires adapting the tools and methodology to this new hybrid learning system we are now using in Romania in several schools.
