We are Paria Goodarzi and Francisco Llinas. Originally from Iran and Venezuela, respectively, we are based in Glasgow Scotland.
Our practices respond to issues around migration, political conflict and displacement by examining the hybrid condition of our social reality and the processes of formation, performance and representation of identity; drawing inspiration from our refugee and diasporic experiences.
Due to the many similarities in our migratory stories and coinciding artistic concerns, we have developed a collaboration under the joint name Distanced Assemblage, where we examine ideas around cultural appropriation, belonging, underrepresentation and decolonisation of cultural spaces through multidisciplinary art and social engagement projects.
