Greetings from Cork, Ireland and Edinburgh, Scotland where we, Marilyn Lennon and Iliyana Nedkova are based. We are just two of the nine founding members of our CONJUNCTION public art curatorial collective. We are very honoured to take part in UNIDEE2021 on behalf of our collective. Established in January 2020, we emerged from attending the year-long online professional development course Curating and Commissioning Contemporary Public Art at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. We cooperate as an online platform-based collective as we have never met face to face. The relationship between publicness, eco-democracy and digitality is central to our action research and we continue to critically engage with online spaces to understand the possibilities, implications and infringements at play. We believe that quality education is the essential fourth pillar of sustainability and we create trans local/national solidarities on a register of scales and timeframes. We use the alternative infrastructure of our online platform collective to investigate digitally-mediated forms of socially-engaged and embedded art practice.
